The story of Craig/Steven Development, formed by Monte and Rick Strusiner in 1968, is a tale known by many in the commercial real estate industry in Chicago. Rick was an architect, Monte was a mortgage banker, and the brothers came together to build one building that grew eventually to a portfolio of over 4 million square feet almost entirely in the Chicagoland area.
The sudden passing of Monte, my dad, earlier this year leaves a hole in our family and our industry—and gives us the opportunity to glimpse the remarkable impact that he had on the world around him.
